Crown Royal Being Sued Over Big K.R.I.T.'s Sample in "Reign On"

Real music heads that are into music business news knew that this was coming. As we all know, Big K.R.I.T.'s single "Reign On" is being used for a Crown Royal ad, and the song features a famous track that is sampled titled "For the Love of Money" by The O’Jays. They are reportedly suing Crown Royal for $1 Million dollars because they say that they were humiliated by the advertisement which features Big K.R.I.T. rapping over their song, calling K.R.I.T. “a poser with limited ability to carry a tune” who performed a “self-aggrandizing childish rap.” Pretty bad stuff here for both sides.

The good news for K.R.I.T., if any, is that the song wasn't featured on his latest project King Remembered In Time.
