Sound the trumpets and roll out the royal carpet let me introduce to you CuRlz ThE GrEaT!!! Born as Curley Hudson Jr., from Chicago, IL on November 02, 1987 it soon became evident that Curlz was cut from a different cloth. Never really being the one who tried to fit in and truthful, Curlz would often find people wanting to fit in with him, making him an unique individual amongst his peers. Curlz made his debut in the rap game in 2005 on the record label "Collateral Damage Records" which was founded by himself, producer James Cagne, and with then label mate and cousin Rated R, on the collaboration album "Double Jeopardy". In early 2006 Curlz changed his name to Da Franchise it was under this moniker he released the mixtapes: The Takeova(2006) and Last Man Standing(2006). With the release of his freshman and sophomore mix tapes Curlz displayed enormous signs of greatness. From mid 2007- 2010 Curlz, in order to maintain his greatness, stepped away from the music scene, in search of his place in the rap world. In late 2010 he made comeback along with a new name. He decided upon and a new name, which he mentions “I didn't want to hide behind a moniker or alias.... I wanted something different something that was mine.” From the vicious punch lines and ferocious metaphors he built immunity to wackness and a hunger for the throne in which became focused on 24/7. Curlz states “I feel like there is a deficiency of real Hip-Hop in the Chi, and no one has their own identity or sound; you hear copies of Waka, Gucci, etc. and like it or not, not enough rappers from Chicago are individuals." He goes on to say “Until someone proves me wrong I’m the best rapper in the Chi PIDD!" It was with this statement Curlz changed his name from the former to Curlz The Great. Be on the lookout for Curlz The Great along with his affiliates of the who are also creating their own reign in the Chi Tru Lies Co., Wild Beats Team, and the record label D.o.E. !!!!
